A beautiful Capodimonte figurine of a lovely dancing girl in a deep royal purple gown. The gown in hand painted with a floral design in yellow, red and blue. Around the figure's waist and in her hair there have been placed individually form tiny flowers in complimentary colors. The edge of the elegant gown has been lavishly finished in ruffled lace using the technique of saturation actual lace in porcelain and pleating it place. Once the figure has been fired in the kiln the lace is burned away leaving the impression of lace in porcelain. She stands in a dancing pose arms out stretched balancing on her left slippered foot next to which is a small bouquet of flowers. Her beautiful face has been expertly hand painted with blue eye, rosy cheeks and red lips. The base is marked with the crowned N, for Capodimonte San Marco of Naples Italy. Condition is very good with only one small lose (5mm) to the fragile lace edge ( see image #6 & #8). And her left lower leg has an area which appears to be a patch made to the porcelain during the manufacturing process (see image #7), which is only visible on very close inspection. Measurements are about 7" T X 6 1/2" W.
