A charming pair of vintage Japanese Lusterware wall pockets in the form of colorful birds. The birds are hand painted with blue caps, green cheeks and red beaks. Their bodies and wings are finished in the familiar gold/orange luster with blue detailing (one bird is slightly less vibrant in color). The downward facing birds are perched upon the trunk shaped pocket which is finished in a lavender blue luster decorated with a single large flower at the top. The back of the wall pockets have a single drilled hole for hanging and are marked in red "Hand Painted in Japan" Measurements are approximately 5" long by 4" wide with a depth of 1 1/2". Condition is good without any crack, chips or repairs, only general surface wear and signs of use. A great way to add some color and charm to your home.
