This is a masterpiece of hand painted porcelain from the E.W. Donath Studio of Chicago. The artwork is signed by artist A. Heidrich on the lower left border. The scene is of two quails set in field of hay with surrounding brush. In the background there is a split rail fence and several haystacks leading depth and reality to the scene. The painting is of the highest quality executed by the very skilled hand of A. Heidrich an artist at the Donath Studio. The porcelain is a molded blank form J P/L France in the form of a large rectangular swallow platter with molded scrolled edge. The entire edge has been gilded in bright gold. The condition is excellent without any signs of damage or repairs. Measurements are 16 1/4" X 12 1/2" with a swallow depth of approximately 2 inches. I just can't say how much I love this piece the painting is simply fabulous. It would be a perfect gift for anyone who is an outdoors man or woman.
