An elegant Biedermeier period bohemian glass perfume bottle, circa 1830-1850. This crystal clear glass is heavily hand decorated with gilt floral designs adding a lot of sparkle to this piece. The bottle's shape is a compressed hexagon with raised arched panel on each side. The gently sloping shoulder rises to a banded neck and slightly cupped mouth. The fitted stopper has a narrow neck topped off with an open fluted six petal flower or crown shape. Dimensions are 6 1/2" T with the stopper in place and approximately 3" across at the base. Condition is very fine, there are no chips or cracks. Moderate loss of gilding due to age and use. A very special piece indeed, able to make a statement in any collection.
