A Gonder Pottery drip glaze vase in the form of a cornucopia with swirled fronds and scalloped edge. The glaze treatment on this piece is one of Gonder's frequently used glazes known as Ebony Green (also call Sea Swirl by some collectors) which is a sage green topped with a brown drip glaze. The interior is finished in a pink glaze which was a practice of Gonder's in their earlier production pieces. On the bottom is the mold number E-5 and the script Gonder USA mark. There are kiln marks on the bottom of the base a common manufacturing flaw on this type of pottery. The vase is 7 inches tall and 7 inch across the top with a 4 3/4" X 3 3/4" rectangular base. This vase's shape has a sense of flow and movement about it with its swirls and scallops. And its overall greenish tone gives it a classic verdigris like appearance that lends it a naturalistic appeal.
