A vintage under glazed and transfer decorated biscuit jar manufactured by Zeh Scherzer & Co. of Bavaria 1881-1991. This lidded jar has a round shape that flairs outwards toward the base with two angle shaped handle on the sides. The base color of the piece is a white with a very slight greenish tinge to it towards the base. The upper portion of the body and the handles have been airbrushed with a soft cocoa brown. The decorations are pink and white roses with green foliage and a gold rimmed edge. There is a small manufacturing flaw on one handle, there a spot where the under glaze brown color is absent. It is not a chip as it is covered with the clear top glaze. I believe that this is part of a larger set probably consisting of a creamer and sugar and other service pieces. Nevertheless, a nice piece to hold your small treats in when serving guests. Measurements are approximately 8 1/2" wide handle to handle and 6" tall.
