A Gonder Ceramic Arts vase from the H-76 mold known as the Crane Pillow Vase. Gonder Ceramic Arts was in business in South Zanesville, Ohio from 1941- 1957, when they sold out to Allied Tile Co. This vase is finished in the blue luster glaze with craquelure and the interior is glazed in pink, a early practice of Gonder. This piece features a crane in deep relief standing in pool of reeds with one foot raised. Dimensions are 9"H X 4"W X 2''D. The bottom has the incised Gonder signature and USA. The base has some roughness from the firing process so the addition of some felt pads might be needed otherwise there is no damage. Overall a piece with a bit of a whimsical character.
