Modified flat top style antique china head doll 25” tall from 1860
This is a modified flat top style antique china head doll 25” tall from 1860. Her head diameter is 13”. She has old put together body with china lower arms and large style lower legs with black china boots. She wears a vintage replaced light lilac color dotted Swiss dress. There are several small dots of stains at the waist of dress in the front.
Her old body has a brown stain over her left chest with brown darning stitches to close a worn hole. She has a hole at right chest that shows some cotton through underneath. She is stuffed with cotton, not sawdust. The top of her cloth arms have larger reinforced stitches and also the top of her blue legs that are sewed to her old cloth striped pattern body. She is firmly stuffed.
Her pretty hands are nicely sculpted and move freely to dress her. There is some stiff glue on top of left arm where sewed to shoulder.
She has a thin waist and wide hips. Her china legs are large and chubby with painted blue ribbon at the top and with black boots with tan soles at the bottom of the boots and light blue ovals at the top front of boot.
She has some black paint wear at the back of her curls.
She has ½ of her shoulder plate missing and her cloth body has been cleverly modified to have the old muslin cloth totally covering her shoulder plate area around her collar and chest plate. Her head is securely sewed on and does not wobble.
She has a beautifully painted face and hair- style and would still display nicely. She has a newer muslin bonnet with cotton crochet around the brim with purple ties under her neck and satin bows and small flowers and lilac color lace.
