German antique china head shoulder plate Pet Name Dorothy doll 24" Circa 1905 tall in good condition.
This is a German antique china head on shoulderplate Pet Name Dorothy doll that is 24" tall and in good condition from 1905. It was made by Hertwig for Butler Brothers in New York. She has a low brow hairstyle with exposed ear lobes, molded yoke with the name Dorothy in gold. The edge of her china collar is gold and also a bow is painted in gold on her shoulderplate. She has a cloth body and china arms and legs. Her legs have painted pale blue boots with gold tassels.
The paint on her face is very good, there is just a very slight paint rub on her bangs and 1 very small spot of a rub on the middle of the back of her head. There is a 1/4" rough mark in front of shouderplate below collar on left side under her clothing.
Her body is very well made and stuffed firm and very clean. It is a replaced vintage body. It has a blue stain behind left calf on the material.
She wears vintage slip and pantaloons, the elastic waist on pantaloons is loose. She has some blue stains on back and right side of slip. She wears a very pretty vintage green velvet dress with lighter green ruffles and it is in very good condition.
