Effanbee introduces Suzie Sunshine in 1961. She was designed by Eugenia Dukas and continued to be sold until about 1983. Most Suzie Sunshine were 18¨tall like the Suzie offered here. They were fully jointed with vinyl faces, sleep eyes with lashes, freckles across the bridge of the nose and rooted hair. The first dolls were all vinyl, but after 161 Effanbee used hard plastic for the bodies and legs. This is Suzie Sunshine from 1977 when she was offered as part of the Country Bumpkin Collection. She is wearing pants, a long dress with daisies a hair yellow ribbon, the rooted hair keeps its original haor net. white shoes and socks her eyes are green, her hair dark brown, straight and long. She is marked Effanbee--"copyright on the back of her neck. Suzie has been stored in her original caron since she was purchased and set aside. She has her foil heart ID card also. The cardboard has a tear on one side due to storage but the rest is in nice condition. The cellophane viewinf window is free of marks and punctures, but has separated from the display frame as the glue aged. It has been secured with some small strips of tape. This is an incredible doll in excellent NIB condition for the serious doll collector!
