This item is a beautiful piece of Nippon porcelain. The bowl is 6 1/4" in diameter and stands 1 1/2' tall. The bowl is white with the inner top edge decorated with a band of vertical gold brush strokes about 1/8" apart. The lower band of decoration on the bowls inside bottom is three panels of three fully open pink roses with dark and light green leaves. These panels are separated by a beige area that is decorated with gold scroll work with a stylized bird in its center. The lower decoration is bordered by raised gold dots. The green makers mark is a wreath with an "M" inside it with "Handpainted" above and "Nippon" below it. There is a small glaze flaw in the shape of a "Y" on the inside bottom of the piece, but there are no chips, cracks, or wear on the item.
