This item is a pair of Victorian cased glass mantle ewers with hand enameled decoration with ground pontil marks on the bottom. The pieces are 11 3/4" tall at the spout, 5 1/2" spout to thorny handle, 5" across the melon shaped body, with a 3 1/2" diameter foot. The ewers are white with a shaded blue exterior with attached frosted glass thorn decorated handles. The decoration consists of open flower blossoms with leaves on thorny stems with raised red glass beads and off white beads as accents. The interior shows stains from use as vases and at one time there was a gold stripe around the foot, but there are no chips, cracks, flakes, or decoration wear.
