This item is a gloss aqua glazed porch jar bottom marked, "McCoy, U.S.A., No. 3" pictured on page 153 of "McCoy Pottery, Vol. 1, Collector's Reference & Value Guide" by Hanson, Nissen, Hanson. The piece is 10 1/2" tall at the handle tops, 11" in body diameter, with an 8" wide foot. The body is ribbed with a band of laurel leaves on a stem below the top rim and has a smooth foot. The porch jar has some typical McCoy flaws under glaze from manufacture, and has picked up a flea bite on one handle bottom and another on the outer rim of the foot, but the piece has no signs of ever being used.
