This item is a hexoganal vase bottom marked with a maple leaf and the script, "Hand Painted, Nippon". The vase is 6 5/8" tall, 5 1/4" across the shoulder, by 2 3/4" across the bottom. The top section of the vase has geometric work in gold with red flower blossoms accented in black as decoration. The front of the piece is adorned with eight ripening cherries, leaves, and stems all outlined in gold. The back has a single cherry with leaves and stems also trimmed in gold. The bottom edge and top opening have gold stripes with raised dots around them.
