This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of handpainted German porcelain. The vase is an unusual shape and fairly large at 11" tall by 6 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" front to back at its widest point. The decoration is dominated by two small children standing in front of a stone column with an urn of flowers on top. To the left is a tree with some flowering shrubs around its trunk. To the right there is a section of fence. The sky and clouds are done in a fashion that they appear to be real. The painting is continued around to the vases sides centers. On the back of the vase is a tree in springtime, as it appears the leaves are beginning to come out. The top and bottom rims are trimmed in gold. There is some wear on the top rim, but none on the bottom. The marks on the bottom are all numbers, 103 and then below that is the number 2. A truly gorgeous piece with no crazing, chips, or cracks.
