Lovely hand carved late 19th century Black Forest inkwell, with a 19th century European silver filigree dip pen, but no markings on the silver that I can find. The inkwell is in the form of a walnut, and the pen stand is the leaves.
This inkwell has its original pretty shaped glass insert, which is rare to find, as quite often they are missing or have been replaced.
The piece measures 6inches (15cm) in length, and the pen measures 4.5inches (11.5cm) long.
The piece is in very good condition and has a beautiful antique patina and colour.
The pen appears to have some repair to the end of the pen, on close inspection, it may have had some addition. The photographs will help show you the items appearance and condition. Please email if you would like further photographs or information.
Thank you for looking this inkwell. You may also like to look at the other interesting antiques that I have for sale.
