This is a beautiful early antique box dating from Georgian period, late 1800s. The top is inlaid to show of an array of different colored woods and the front veneer is well chosen with a striking burr pattern. It has its original brass stop hinges and lock with a key. It sits on the original brass ball feet.

On the base, underside of the box, is the original 200 plus year old marbled paper.

The interior has been relined. The box makes a lovely memory box or keepsake box and the fall flap under the lid can be used for photographs or drawings.
