This is a small dark red jewelry box that dates from the Edwardian period, early 20th century. It is a wooden box with a faux leather covering . There is a working brass lock and a key, and also brass hinges.
Inside is the original tray, and the velvet and cotton silk lining is also the original. There is gold tooling around the edge on the lid and on the tray.
On the base, underside of the box is an old label with a name written on it.
The box is in very good condition and structurally sound. There is a little indentation on the edge of the lid, above the lock, and a bit of indentation on the corners and the sides here and there reflecting age and use over the years. There are a few little age spots on the material lining. Please examine the photographs to make your assessment of the box and please do not hesitate to contact me if you need further information.
It measures 7 inches (17.5cm) x 4.75 inches (12cm) x 3 inches (7.5cm).
