Joseph Amarotico studied with Raphael Soyer at the American Art School in New York, and with Theodor Siegl at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Philadelphia, PA. He is known as a painter of Surrealist and architectural fantasies including "Dream Castles", as well as a celebrated art conservator at PAFA, from 1966 until his death.
