This fantastic little doll is naively carved from wood. She has a painted face and shoes. Dressed in her original clothes of dress and layers of underskirts, she is exquisite.
Her underskirts or petticoats appear to made of paper and her dress is also a kind of coated paper, possibly wax coated to give it more of a "fabric" feel and appearance. There is a pin hole size hole to the top of her head so she is possibly missing a hat or tuck comb.
Small enough to live in a dolls house this lovely doll is sure to appeal to collectors across the board.
This doll is around 200 years old and we think she looks good for her age. There is of course some age related wear but so nice to have her original clothes which have survived pretty well given their delicate nature.
