Here is a beautiful Antique French Crystal Regulator Clock for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!
Wow folks, a 100 year old French Crystal Regulator clock with a very nice look to it. The case is intact, not dents or repairs to it.
Nice looking movement, glass, and case on this Antique French Clock. The clock probably dates to the 1910s to 1920s period.
The bronze clock case is all there. Beautiful trim work around the clock face. The bronze case shows some minor to moderate finish loss. Both the front and rear doors are on their hinges and securely attached to the case. The pull for both doors are also in place. The beveled glass is intact on all four sides, no cracks or blistering with the exception of the rear door glass where blistered in the upper right hand corner.
The clock face is very eye catching. The porcelain face is intact, no hairlines. Beautiful gold trim ring around the face. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The gold colored grommets are in place around the wind holes.
Nice looking brass movement here with a wire gong. The movement has "Made in France" incised into the back plate. Nice sound to the strike. Strikes once on the half hour and the number of hours on the hour. The pendulum is a faux mercury one. We have not had the clock long enough to determine if running consistently. Both springs feel sound when keyed. The clock will come with a vintage wind key. So selling this clock in not running and striking condition at this juncture.
The Antique French Crystal Regulator Clock stands 10.25" tall, by 6.75" across, by 5-3/8" wide. The clock face is 3-5/8" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.
As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Don't be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions!
