Here is a nice antique piano key accordion that is in good condition on the outside that was recently acquired at an estate sale. The leather straps are still there, show wear. The bellows appears to be intact. This item would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself!
Securing leather weave tabs for the bellows are still in good shape. Both sets of piano keys are working and return to original position after release. So do all of the smaller round keys (return to their original position). The accordion puts out a nice sound, but certainly you should expect that the accordion will need some refurbishing. Brings back all those memories of watching Lawrence Welk and Guy Lombardo, with the family when younger. Cannot hear any reeds that are loose the case, but that typically happens during the shipping process with an older accordion.
Some minor wear on the case, but see no cracks or chips. The fabric behind the chromed striped area shows wear and is probably brittle. This accordion was made by some company for Wurlitzer. Wurlitzer did not make any instruments themselves, had other companies make them for them, which are called stencil instruments. Do not see a marking that identifies the model number for this accordion. The accordion probably dates to the 1940s to 1950s period. Cannot say what the inside of the accordion looks like reed wise. Has a paper label with the patent number of 1984079 on the accordion
The board that both sets of pearloid keys reside in appears to be a resonite or other form of plastic. The black case of the accordion is made of some composite. Appears to be is in very good condition, no chips, shows little wear from play.
The accordion is 19.75" long, 10.25" high, and 14.5" wide. The case the accordion goes in is 10" tall, by 22.25" across, by 17" wide.
There is also a case that is lined with some sort of blue cloth material. The locking tabs are working, no key for the case. The handle is pretty worn. A musty dusty smell to the inside of the case. There are few accordion paper books/manuals that come with this item as well.
The detailing/decoration of this accordion is nicely done. Great accordion for you to refurbish for playing again.
