Here is a great signed limited edition lithograph entitled, "Bob Hope", done by Al Hirschfeld in 1983 for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself!
Here is a nice Al Hirschfeld highly sought after limited edition print. This is #40 of only 200 of this lithograph edition that were issued! Such an opportunity does not present itself very often.
The limited edition lithograph is entitled, "Bob Hope" and was done in 1983. Captures a caricature of Bob Hope that probably dates to his look in the 1950s to 1960s period.
This is not an open edition print, it is a limited edition print. The print is pencil signed and numbered by the artist. The print has the 1983 Certificate of Authenticity that was issued by George Goodstadt of George Goodstadt, Inc., and is taped to the back of the piece. No markings or brown spotting on the lithograph, looks real clean.
Beautiful rendering here. The artist is considered one of the best in capturing caricatures of famous people and scenes in the 1970s thru 1990s. Truly captures the essence of Bob Hope with the expression on his face and his head cupped in his hand.
This fine art piece is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end gallery. We are able to do that by being a dealer for 40 plus years, controlling our acquisition costs, keeping commission costs low (if applicable), and then we don't have the overhead to pay that a gallery does.
From our friends at Wikipedia about the artist;
Albert Hirschfeld was with us from 1903 to 2003. Hirschfeld's style is unique, and he is considered to be one of the most important figures in contemporary drawing and caricature, having influenced countless artists, illustrators, and cartoonists. His caricatures were regularly drawings of pure line in black ink, for which he used a genuine crow quill.
Readers of The New York Times and other newspapers prior to the time they printed in color will be most familiar with the Hirschfeld drawings that are black ink on white illustration board. However, there is a whole body of Hirschfeld’s work in color. Hirschfeld’s full-color paintings were commissioned by many magazines, often as the cover. Examples are TV Guide, Life Magazine, American Mercury, Look Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, The New Masses, and Seventeen Magazine. He also illustrated many books in color, most notably among them Harlem As Seen By Hirschfeld, with text by William Saroyan.
