Nice Vintage Black Forest Style Wall Clock for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!

This is a very unique style of case clock. The wood case still has a lot of its' original elegance, appears to be made of walnut. Beautiful wood columns on either side of the clock face. Great gallery topper on this clock as well with the appropriate topper finials and the finials within the topper design are also in place. Ever the two lower barrel finials are in place. Nice carved detailing on the whole clock case.

The case is all there, and solidly put together. The locking latches and eyes screws are in place on the side and bottom of the clock. No makers mark or paper label on the clock case that we can ascertain. Some impressed numbers on the front plate of the brass movement, see pic.

The clock face is a part of the clock case. Some sort of metal numbers pieces that have the roman numerals painted on them in enamel paint. These are not composite numbers as you see on newer less well made clocks. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock.

Nice brass movement in this case. We do not see a maker mark on the back plate of the movement. All the pieces and hooks to operate the various pieces appear to be there. The movement is original to the case.

The barometer is in place. Have not had long enough to determine if in working condition. There is a thermometer that has it's red fluid in it as well. Loose from the case and just taped into the case at this juncture.

The clock is not in running condition as it did not come with a pendulum. Movement looks pretty clean and has a good beat to it even without the pendulum. The clock springs feel sound when keyed. So, the clock is being sold in not running and striking condition at this juncture until the pendulum issue is resolved.

This is a time and strike clock. The clock stands 35.5" tall case to finials, by 16.75" across, by 6-1/8" wide. The clock face is 5-7/8" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.

As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
