Here is a nice uncommon Time Card Punch Clock for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself!
Beautiful Baird Equipment Co Time Card Clock here. Baird products were made in Chicago IL.
The time card clock has a cast iron case, very heavy. There are also brass components on the top of the unit. This compact time card unit weighs over 19 pounds! I would guess that this piece dates to the World War II period.
The case is painted in an Army Green color. Certainly paint loss and some minor rust and corrosion going on. One of the back screws that holds the levered punch top on is not there. Rubber numbers are deteriorated. Probably was a lock on the bottom of the unit that is no longer there. A small remnant of the ink tape on the outside roller.
Nice looking face on this clock. Silver color metal face with black numbering. The glass is still over the face. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. Interesting design. On of the bars on top is to get a start time, the other is depressed to get a finish time.
Interesting looking 8 day brass movement on this clock. We can see "Made In" impressed in reverse on the movement, but nothing more. The clock has a great beat to it when wound. This is an escape wheel movement.
The clock movement has been running since we acquired the the time card punch clock. Was real dirty. Just cleaned the pivot points and bushings and oiled them. Did not tank the movement. The wind spring feels sound when keyed. The clock will come with a wind key. The knob to set the time on the clock still operates.
The Time Card Clock stands 9" tall, by 8-13/16" across, by 7" wide. The clock face is 2-5/8" across. This is a heavy piece, so expect the shipping costs to reflect that. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.
As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it.
Don't be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions! You can also pick this clock up in Wilmington, DE should you not want to have the clock shipped to you. The clock may be partially disassembled to be more safely shipped to you. So, expect some reassembly.
