Nice 2 volume set of books entitled, "England Picturesque and Descriptive Reminiscences of Foreign Travel". Authored by Joel Cook. Issued in 1899. Published by the John C Winston Co. of Philadelphia, PA.
The books have dark blue hardcovers in very good condition. A gold gilt seal on the front cover of both books. Title, Author, a seal, volume number, and publisher noted in gold gilt on the spine. Some minor surface scratching and wear at corners and ends of spine. The pages are smooth cut along the open sides with gold gilt on the top. The colored fold out Railway map is still attached in the back of volume 2!
No foxing, brown spotting or soiling. No mold or mildew. No previous owners stamps or markings in the books that we can ascertain.
Each book is 8-1/8" tall, by 5.75" across, by approximately 1.5" wide. There are 402 pages in in the first volume, and 412 pages in the second volume. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
