Here is a nice Antique rendering of the Vue De Port De New York as of 1788 for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!
This Antique Engraving is in very nice condition and professionally framed and matted in a beautiful mahogany frame.
The engraving is on older paper. The engraving probably dates to the mid to latter 1800s, certainly not a 1700s piece. The engraving was hand colored as well.
No watermarks or tears to the engraving. Some minor browning to the paper with age. A couple of spots around the perimeter in the lower right hand corner. No notations on the engravings as to the original painter or engraver of the piece.
The engraving is in a nice vintage mahogany wood frame. The wood graining is exposed and the stain to the frame is a reddish brown. There is some minor finish loss to the frame. A gouge on the bottom of the frame that has been touched up with a furniture marker.
A light mint green colored matting around the engraving with a darker green component by the engraving. Tru Vue conservation glass was used as noted on the stamp still on the back of the piece. The glass is intact over both pieces, no cracking or blistering. The hanging wire is in place on the frame. The piece is sealed up on the back with paper. The seals on the back of both says the gallery that framed them was First State Photo Service of Rehoboth Beach, DE.
The Framed Engraving is 24-5/8" tall, by 29-1/8" across, by 1" wide. The engraving showing thru the matting is 11-5/8" tall by 16-3/8" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
