Here is a nice History of Delaware book for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!
Nice State of Delaware history book for you here. The book is an English translation of the edition published in German in Hamburg by Carl Ernst Bohn in 1799. Christopher Daniel Ebeling did the translation to English. He was a Historical Professor and Librarian of the Hamburg Gymnasium. The book was part of, "Geography and History of America, The United States of America" history series.
What makes this book really unique is that it appears to be a typewritten version of the translation. Cannot tell if this is an original version, or a copy of the typewritten version. A folded page in the book that is an outline of the book, see pic. There are not illustrations or maps in the book, all wording.
The book has a black leather and wallpaper hardcover boards. The covers and spines are securely attached to the rest of the book. The title, author last name and volume number are noted in gold gilt on the spine. Shows cracking where the covers hinge at the spine.
No foxing or brown spotting going on. No mold or mildew. Do not smell tobacco. A musty/dusty smell to the book. A book owner's label on one of the front blank pages for a Leon De Palinger.
The book is 10-5/8" tall, by 8-3/8" across, by 1" wide. The book is 213 pages in length. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
