Here is a nice game board for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!
The inlaid wood game board is 14.25" across, by 14.5" wide, by 1-7/16" wide. Each square is 1-5/8' by 1-5/8" across. The playing board is built into the end pieces. The playing squares appear to be made of wood or some sort of tile. The graining and coloring of the squares appears to be done with paint. Not sure what the playing squares are made of, but do have a great look graining and color wise to them. There is some minor finish loss and scratching to the game board wood frame that is painted with black enamel paint, nothing that takes away form its' good looks. Interesting painted cube design around the perimeter of the game board. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
I would venture to guess that the chess board dates back to the 1950s, to 1960s. Not sure of the maker or country of origination of the playing pieces. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
