Here is a great unique Junghans Bracket Clock in running condition (not striking and chiming) for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!
Very nice Junghans clock case here. The clock probably dates to the 1908 to 1915 period. The case is all intact, no missing pieces. Some minor finish loss to the case, most noticeably on the left base of the case. The 4 wood feet are also still in place on the clock case. The board on the bottom of the wood case is cracked from one side to the other. See pic.
Beautiful mahogany case on this clock. The clock face is silver with black numbers. The hands for the silent/chime and fast/slow adjustments are in place.
The wind hole grommets are in place. The bezel is securely attached to the case by the hinge. The beveled glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock.
The movement looks good. The 3 springs feel sound when keyed. The clock comes with what appears to be the appropriate pendulum. So, we are selling this clock in running, but not striking and chiming condition. The clock will come with a wind key.
The clock has a Westminster Chime's unit. The clock's minute hand does not seem to be hooked up to the gear that sets off the strike and chime functions. If the chime/strike function were operating then would do the Wesminster Chime every 15 minutes, and then chime and strikes the hours on the hour. This is a five rod chime/strike unit. There are separate strike hammers for the chimes (5) and strike (4).
The Junghans Clock stands 14.5" tall, by 11" across, by 8" wide. The clock face is 5" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Don't be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions!
