Here is a great Antique Bronze Wall Clock on Wood Wall Plaque for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself.
What a beautiful clock here. The clock has "Made in France" engraved on to the back of the movement. As you all know, not many French clock makers marked their works and this is one of them. The clock probably dates back to the early 1900s to 1910s period based upon the design of the movement.
Just a beautiful bronze case attached to what is probably a light stained mahogany back board. The back plate that covers the movement area is in place as well.
The clock has a beautiful flowered painted enamel on metal face with exquisite gold colored hands. The bezel is securely attached to the case and the concave glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering. There is a S/F adjustment slot thru the face, but not attached to anything on the movement on the clock. The S/F adjustment is on the movement.
The metal case which appears to be bronze has a great classic look to it. Nice detailing and coloring. Minimal finish loss.
This Clock was just serviced by Clock Doc and is now in running condition. The movement is made of brass. The escapement wheel moves freely and the spring on it (the escapement wheel) appears to be in good condition. The clock will come with a vintage wind key. So, this clock is being sold in running condition.
The French Bronze Wall Clock stands 27.25" tall, by 15.5" across, by 4.25" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Don't be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions!
The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.
