Here is a great Antique 1796 Map for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!
Great 1796 map entitled, "The State of Rhode Island Compiled fro Surveys and Obfervations of Cald Harris by Harding Harris". The map was drawn for Carey's General Atlas and was Map #29 in it.
The maps shows the full lands and waters of Rhode Island and then some of the surroundingf states of MA and CT.
Very old map, but no way to tell if this is a first printing or a later edition. Certainly not a dot matrix map, old paper, old printing techniques.
The map appears to have been folded in the middle. Slight browning to the map. There is foxing and brown spotting. No tears, or repairs to the map that we can ascertain. Some waviness to the map with how it was placed in the frame.
The map is in a wood frame with a white matting. The frame is made of wood and has a black finish to it. The frame is sealed on the back with tape to keep dust and dirt out over the years.
The Antique Map Engraving in frame is 19.25" tall, by 10-5/16" across, by .5" wide. The map showing thru the matting is 14.25" tall, by 8-5/8" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
