Here is a nice unique New Haven Bracket Clock with Inlaid Wood Case in running condition for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!
Very unique and uncommon inlaid wood New Haven Clock case here. The clock probably dates to the 1910s to 1920s period. Nice design below the clock face that carries thru lines that go around the perimeter of the face. Then check out the beautiful curved top on the clock. The case is all intact, no missing pieces. Some minor finish loss to the case, most noticeably on the left base of the case. The rear wood door is intact and securely attached to the case. The lock latch is in place as well. The wood feet are also still in place on the clock case as well. The clock has side metal screens to allow the strike sound to carry better thru the room. There once was thin black paper inside them that has worn away with age.
Beautiful mahogany case on this clock. The clock face is white enamel on metal with black numbers. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. Some loss of finish around the wind holes. The brass bezel is securely attached to the case by the hinge. Nice beaded edge on the bezel. The concave glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering.
The brass movement looks good. The time and strike springs both feel sound when keyed. The clock strikes once on the half hour and the number of hours on the hour. The clock comes with a pendulum and wind key. So, we are selling this clock in running, and striking condition.
This is a gong strike unit. The New Haven Clock stands 13-3/8" tall, by 9.25" across, by 6-13/16" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
