Here is a nice Ansonia Porcelain Case Clock for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!
Nice Ansonia Mantel Clock here. Not sure what the model is here yet, other than called a No 415, typically a name as well. Te clock dates to the 1905 to 1910 period.
The clock has a floral designed porcelain case. Great flowering designs on the front, sides and top of the clock. Beautiful, pinks, red, yellow, and green with a white background. There is gold gilt trim around the side design section of the case. Certainly some loss to the gold gilt trim. The model numbere is on the back of the case. We see no cracks or hairlines to bring to your attention. The wood board at the bottom of the case that holds the gong unit looks appropriate to the clock. The gong is in place. The metal rear door is in place on the back of the clock, missing the cork and pin for the latch.
Beautiful gold colored face on this clock. Has the Ansonia name and logo on it. Great black numbering on paper. No hairlines on the face. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. Nice gold trim ring around the face. The bezel is securely attached to the case by the hinge. The beveled glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering to the glass.
The movement is the Ansonia one that came with the case. The Ansonia name is on the movement. The two wind springs feel sound when keyed. The clock comes with a vintage wind key and the pendulum bob. This clock will run for a few minutes, but then stops. So, this clock is being sold in not running and striking condition. When the clock is run manually, the clock strikes on the half hour and strikes the number of hours on the hour as it should.
The Ansonia clock stands 11-3/8" tall, by 9.25" across, by 5.5" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.
Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 10% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it.
