This Foo Lion was made in China , early 20th century. As was the way at that time, it is made from silver wire mesh, covered with bronze and gold, and then decorated with areas of cloisonné. Pieces like this are fascinating and unusual to see, and most are quite small, usually about 1 1/2 inches high. This one, however, is 3 x 4 x 1.2 Inches, 4.5 ounces. The enamel is still quite bright, although there is some minor loss. A rare find!
