Three French Trade cards for "Biscuits Pernot". They show wear and some discoloration and the smaller card has a corner missing on the bottom right.
The First Card (showing on the left top in the first photo) has printed in french( loosely translated): " The Krokelis believed that only a god could pardon gluttony. And they decided to take him to their capital to be fair by universal suffrage." That card is 4 3/4" x 3 1/2. The condition shows some staining.
The second card showing the harvest has printed in french on the reverse: The source of the hops and method of harvesting in detail. This card is 4 5/8" x 3 3/8". The color reflects an aged effect and no longer has the bright white background that I believe it originally had. The third card has a picture of Garibaldi and the dates of 1807-1882 on the front.
I believe all these cards are late 1800's. Please review the photo's - as they are part of the description.
