In the 1970s, the quality cowboy shirt manufacturers such as H Bar C incorporated "stripes" of floral prints into their classic shirt bodies, and lengthened their collar points (these are 3.75" long) a bit to keep up with and set trends in western wear.
This floral is a complimentary combination of golden yellow mums and blue asters and daisies with black stems and leaves.
In addition, printing techniques were being experimented with, and this lightweight, sheer shirt fabric is a fabulous combination of a white on white geometric print in a wavy stripe with rope bound edges BETWEEN the flower print. It is VERY subtle, and very cool.
Otherwise, this has the traditional peaked yokes front and back as well as on the pockets (which have round Rau Klikit pearl snaps). The same round pearl snaps fasten down the front, each one closes perfectly and lays flat. The very top button is a 7/16" pearlized plastic.
This is a permanent press long tail, so we'd imagine there's a bit of polyester in this, but it sure doesn't feel like it...it has a great soft hand and feels cool and smooth on the skin.
This does have very, very light pilling on the inside collar and under each arm where there is typically more stress and wear on a garment when it does have a bit of poly blend. These issues are not visible when worn. We did notice also that the collar tips both show slight wear; please see close-up shot. There are alot of clothing manufacturers who desperately try to get their new clothing with these vintage look
What this translates to us? this has been worn, and loved, and is nice and broken in, so the new owner won't look like a stiff rookie, but a cool, calm, relaxed guy that's been around a bit.
17.5" across the back yoke,
8.5" cuffed-finish short sleeve and
31" from center back of the neck to hem.
This is also tapered in at the waist a bit ~ this was referred to at that time as Euro-styling or shaping.
Totally 70s. Totally Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Hyde (Danny Masterson) cool.
This cool rockabilly collectible is freshly laundered, and ready to rock.
Hit the roadhouse on Friday night, head to the races on Saturday, or bring it along with you to Viva Las Vegas in April.
We suggest wearing it as shown with a fresh t-shirt underneath, and open. But you can always just wear it without, as well. T-shirt not included.
