This lovely powder compact measures 2 and 3/8" square and 5/16" deep.
It is a rich engraved gold tone metal case with a push latch in the center front and a mirror on the inside upper lid.
The charming exterior combines a matte gold finish with a shiny gold finish in a design of bows around the outer edge, with the ribbons of them weaving together to form a garden lattice/basket weave look through the center (top and bottoms, identical). There are a few flowers and leaves sprinkled through out lending even more of a garden look to this.
The sides of this are decorated with a double faced crown logo (16 total on each side).
This is estimated to be from the very earliest the 1960s, but could very well be as early as the 1940s, since it is a bit smaller size.
There is no puff, and no powder remaining in the compact, and it is quite clean;weI envision this utilized as a traveling compact for a couple favorite pairs of earrings, or perhaps, a great little pill box, even.
In wonderful condition; with only the most minor of typical surface wear, and one tiny darkened spot along the very edge; please see all close-up photos.
