Vintage 1920s 1930s Manual Sewing Machine Singer 20 A Junior Machine for Girls

The Singer 20 toy sewing machine was first introduced in 1910 and produced a simple chain stitch. This is from the estate of a woman who was born in the 1920s; it was hers as a child.

This has Singer stamped in gold on both front and back, with their gold logo label that reads: “THE SINGER MANFG. CO. TRADE MARK” on the back side.

This sewing machine measures about 7" wide by 6 and 3/4” tall and 3 and 1/2" deep. It comes with a clamp to secure it to a table top for use.

Weighs 2# 8.6 oz (no packaging)

Visually this is in very good condition; we do not know if it will work as we acquired it without the bobbin case or a needle. The wheel does turn, it has a crank handle on the end, which makes the part that would hold the needle go up and down.

We did read in another listing that “The machine uses a short 24x1 needle, which has its flat shank fitted to the right and is threaded from left to right.”

Even if it does not function properly (we really think it would, once a bobbin, needle and thread were found to fit), this would make a charming display piece for any seamstress, or fabric store, or antique and vintage shop.
