This delightful wood toy rocker was a gift to a little girl in the 1950s and is in remarkable condition still.
It’s a nice wide, safe size for a child and has wooden pegs for a child to hold. Those pegs and the rocker rails are painted a sweet light baby blue color, with adorable flower decals on the rocker rails, too.
The body, both sides of the head and tail had decals of Bambi applied on them, the legs are metal, and are painted beige which gives the appearance of a deer’s legs.
At the base of the neck there is a stamp that says “Walt Disney’s BAMBI” “copyright Walt Disney Productions”
And, there is a bell on the bottom side of the body that rings as the rocker moves back and forth.
Measurements of this are:
28.5” from the back of the blue horizontal rocker leg to the front of it. (front to back)
13” from the outside of the rocker leg to the opposite outside of rocker leg. (side to side)
17.5” from the floor to the top of the head. (height)
There are scuffs on this, especially where little feet have perched on the rails, but this is in overall outstanding condition considering it is over 60 years old.
The tail can be removed for easier shipping; it simply screws on.
This would be a charming baby gift for a young couple who love vintage Disney, or it would be an enchanting addition to a local pre-school or day-care center.
