This is a double breasted tailored, padded shoulder skirt suit from the late 1970s to very early 1980s, made by Peabody House.
It is a very dark midnight blue/more black color with dove gray, maroon and teal accents.
This is beautifully crafted, with the plaids matching from the jacket down through skirt. Both the skirt and the jacket are fully lined. The jacket's front pockets still have their original tailor's tacks intact. The skirt has pockets hidden in the side seams.
Labeled size 7/8, this measures:
Sleeve length: 24"
Around hem: 40"
Shoulder point to shoulder point: 16"
Waistband is 1.25" wide
Hips (9" down from waist): (oops, forgot to measure. We would guesstimate it as at least 34, more likely 38-40. We can measure this when we
get back home in April, sorry for the delay.)
Around hem: 43" (+ kick pleat adds extra room to walk)
Length: 27.25" from bottom of waistband
10" deep kick pleat in center back
This skirt has two soft tucks on each side of the front, with single darts in back for fitting.
The zipper is in the side seam, by YKK, nylon with metal pull
The lining is acetate.
This is freshly drycleaned, ready to wear, in excellent condition.
We love these suits, they're so versatile: wear them together, or separately to expand your wardrobe.
