Here is a classic 70s dress ensemble suit made in Hong Kong by Andrew Arkin which includes a sleeveless dress and short sleeved jacket that is PERFECT for transitional season wear, and for travel.
The dress has a slightly scooped neckline with an attractive fitted band waistline, a single inverted pleat up the front, and is sleeveless. The bodice is princess cut with shaping darts in those front seams. The skirt of the dress has double darts in the front and back for a nice smooth fitted silhouette.
The jacket is short sleeved, fully lined and has matched patch pockets on each side of the front. It is slightly flared with a princess cut and extra darts in the back for extra fit. Also, the shoulders are cut as a yoke, sort of, but combined with the sleeves for a very nice, smooth fit.
This has plastic dome shank buttons (they were the rage in the late 60s early 70s ) and self-fabric loops. There are two of the same buttons on the waistband of the dress as well.
Laid flat the dress measures:
19" across front underarms for an approximate 38" bust.
15" at the center of the waistband (~30" waist)
19-20" across the hip (~38-40" hips) (measuring at the top of the inverted pleat)
Length from the center back of the neck to the top of the waistband is 12.5".
The waistband is 2.75" wide.
Length from the center back of the neck to the hem is 38.5"
There are pockets in the side seams of the dress, too.
The jacket measures:
19.25" (~39-39" bust)
16" (32" waist)
23" Long from center back of the neck to the hem.
4" from underarm seam to sleeve hem.
This is a fabulous travel and resort dress suit in classic, flattering lines.
This dresses up nicely with heels, or can be worn more casually with flats, too.
This is made of a beautiful jacquard cotton, we believe (no fiber labels) in an abstract giraffe-esche animal print in autumn tones of orange, brown, cocoa and persimmon. The jacket's lining is a nice polyester crepe.
Freshly cleaned, although we did notice a whisper of darkening along the jacket's back of the collar (not visible when worn) this is in otherwise excellent condition and is ready to wear!
The price is for the jacket and dress both together.
