This boxy cut jacket has great design lines, most of which are hidden in the thick boucle slubbed tweed fabric.
It is actually cut in a shelf bust, but it's so bulky, it's not noticeable. There is a tabbed front closure with a fringed detail.
The skirt and jacket are both completely lined in a gorgeous copper sharkskin.
The main colors are black and rust/russet with brilliant, unexpected lime green slubs.
This is cropped and boxy, as mentioned before, with a squared neckline, wide collar, and it has huge buttons (1 3/4" across). The back bodice has curved princess seaming.
Length 23" from center back of the neck to the hem
Sleeve length is 22", the bell hem is 13” around
Shoulder point to shoulder point: 16.25"
The collar points are 4.5" deep
The skirt has double darts in the front, and a single dart on each side on the back.
The waistband is 1.5" wide
The hip is 38"
This is 25.25" long, with a deep (5.5" ) hem
This skirt has a narrow sweep of only 38", and has no kick pleat.
The skirt is a knock out worn without the jacket, too, especially with black or a bright green like the slubs in the tweed.
This is in excellent condition; it has been freshly dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
We can't help but think of Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield when we see the lines of this fantastic 1960s classic suit. Looks fantastic worn with 3/4 gloves, too, of course.
