Here is a classic black tailored women's skirt suit of a nice thick textured weave, with pure 1960s styling.
This features a boxy cropped jacket with princess seaming, wide notched collar and square patch pockets with top-stitching, and 3/4 sleeves. It has three large buttons up the front, and beautifully bound buttonholes. It is fully lined.
The skirt is simple, slender cut with a back kick pleat and angled hip darts in front, and waist line darts in back (some call these skirts wiggle or pencil skirts). The skirt is partially lined.
Bust: up to 41"
Sweep of jacket hem: 40"
Length from CB of the neck to hem: 21"
Neck point to shoulder point: 5"
Sleeve length: 18"
Shoulder point to shoulder point: 16 1/2"
Waistband: 3/4" wide
Sweep of hem: 42", expanding to 46" with kick pleat spread.
This has a "Ward's Ward Bros Lewiston Maine" label, a "Tailored by Glenhaven Ltd" label, and a blue and white union label. There is not a fiber label; it feels like wool, or a wool blend, possibly.
This has been freshly dry cleaned, and is in excellent, ready to wear condition.
We've shown it with gloves, black choker and white blouse: all are sold separately, not included with this suit. We clipped back the jacket on a couple of the shots to show a more tailored look.
This would be a fantastic "interview" suit for a new graduate. Also, it is a lovely and elegant choice to wear for a funeral.
