This cute, classic cotton A-line skirt is labeled Patty Woodard California.
It is simply designed with double darts in the front and back for a nice, smooth, flattering fit, and a narrow waistband; however, there are details that show the quality, such as:
* lining the waistband with a tiny and bright polka dot print,
* adding an arrow shaped tip on the end of the waistband,
* finishing the side seams with coordinating/contrast aqua threaded french seaming and
* having printed (two sided) hanger loops that also say Patty Woodard California.
(found an ad from July 1960) (valuation of $100.49/1960)
the waistband is narrow at only 3/4" wide
this is 19.5" long from bottom of the waistband
around the hem: 36"
This has a center back zipper (Robin, metal pull, plastic teeth), with the center back seam having a serged finish
Some call this fabric's weave "kettle cloth"
Color: "sienna", medium golden brown, with aqua and brown polka dot lined waistband.
