Here is a cool pair of ice skates that are two-toned in black and dark espresso brown colors, kind of like bowling shoes from the same (and earlier) eras.

These are marked "Tempered Steel S.S.S. Made in Japan" on the bottoms; the bottom at the outside of the ball of the foot is marked "9 2/3".

These come with a pair of very light yellow laces. The laces are a bit darkened (we have not washed them), looks like they have been tied and rubbed against the polish on the tongue. There is a slight scuff on the front right toe and a tape or sticker mar on the upper ankle on that same right boot (see all close up photos, please).

Otherwise, these skates are in amazing condition; check out the bottoms; the white seams on the sole of the skate are perfectly white, like never-seen-snow-or-ice white.

We have heard that the flat shoe bottom indicates that these are hockey skates rather than figure skates (they usually have a heel and a toothed front point).

These measure

10" from the toe seam to the heel seam;

3" across the ball of the foot from seam to seam, and about

6" up and over the ball of the foot.

The ankle guard raises 7 1/4" up from the bottom of the foot.

The blade is 11 1/4" from front to back, and is 1/8" wide.

Inside is stamped a large 6, then 0824244.

Below that is says "Upper of split cowhide" and then below that it says something (we can't make it out on either boot) and then "man made materials".

They do look like all leather, except the top back liner for the ankle support looks like cloth backed vinyl adhered to the leather exterior.

The tongues are leather with red felt liners.

We honestly don't know about ice skates, we don't skate. But we especially liked the look of these, so we picked them up.

Concerning the S.S.S. manufacturer, we can't find much information, except that they made skates at least in the 1970s for a while, and that Japanese Olympians wore them (for the Winter Olympics) when Europeans and Americans were wearing other brands.

These are great looking pair of vintage skates ~ have a sports bar? these would be GREAT decor items as well as just being a really cool looking pair of wearable ice hockey skates.

This is for the single pair of two tone skates: the white skates, skis, and sled are not included. We DO have versions of each of those items in our shop now, and we are happy to reduce for multiple item orders and we do combine to reduce shipping, if possible.

We have guesstimated the weight of these; it they weigh less, we'll refund any extra as we generate the shipping label, if they weigh more, then we will pay any extra due.
