In the 60s and into the 70s, weddings were quite colorful: many in pastels of pinks, yellows, lavenders and blues. Bridal attendant's dresses, hats and SHOES were often matching, which all came back to mind when we found these light blue shoes!
These are basic, classic pumps with a softly curved yet squared toe box, and a low, very wearable and comfortable heel of only 2.5" in height.
Another advantage to plain pumps like these, is that they are a great to wear with shoe clips! (we've included an image with some rhinestone clips from the 1930s: the shoe clips are not included).
These are marked as a size 7B over AA, which was sometimes an indication that it was narrow.
The rest of the measurements are:
10" from toe to heel
3" across tread
The following was also stamped on the inside of the shoe back by the heel:
sized as 7 B over AA
Vinyl sock lining
Elastomer outsold
Dyed Leather exterior
These have been worn, as you can see in the images, enough to create a bend in them behind the toe box. This is not distracting neccessarily, but definitely present, so not perfect.
The interiors show little to no wear, and the back of the heels are also in remarkable condition; often times we have seen "wedding shoes" with gouges in the backs of the heels, so this was a nice surprise to find.
We love wearing vintage colored shoes to add a pop of color to a modern wardrobe. And, as mentioned, they're low enough that they are quite comfortable, too.
Good to wear for summer soirees, vintage inspired bridal showers (and wedding parties!), and of course they're terrific to wear to period themed parties (think Mad Men...).
