Vintage 1940s navy blue leather low heeled pumps from Eaton's, one of the most successful and largest department stores of Canada.
These are made of leather combined with an open weave mesh on each side and over the toe box, they are beautifully stitched with a fancy scalloped and pointed design.
Labeled a size 8A, with the number P1606 5
3 1/8" across tread
10" from tip of toe to back of heel
2 1/4 heel height
Condition: these have been loved, and worn in their 50+ years, yet, they are still extremely wearable. The right heel has one small scuff to the back and one to the front, and "driver's heel" at back of foot. Left exterior heel box scuffed, but dark, so disguises well. We've included images for you to inspect.
A little about Eatons:
The first Eaton's shop opened in December of 1869 in Toronto, in a small space that it quickly outgrew.
By 1883 it opened in a new space that boasted three floors of retail space featuring 35 departments, the largest plate-glass windows in Toronto, the first electric lights in any Canadian store, and in 1886, the first elevator in a retail establishment in Toronto was installed.
