Here is an excellent pair of vintage peep-toe sling-back high heel shoes made of black suede with black faille edging.
These have an open-cut design, however the inside lining is cut all-in-one so there are no seams to rub against toes or the top of the foot, denoting quality engineering and manufacturing.
They are unmarked, except for a size stamped on the strap of 7 1/2 AA with the numbers 1179.
These measure 9 and 3/4" from toe to heel,
3" across ball of foot,
5 and 5/8" up and over the ball of the foot,
with a 4" high heel.
Condition is remarkable: these are very sturdy, the suede areas of the shoes are all perfect, including the back of the heels, while there is a 1/4" scuff on the faille of the left shoe (between heel of shoe and foot). Also, each sling has a buckle closure for a nice fit: there are 4 original holes, and it looks like the wearer pushed through about 3 extra tiny holes to get them to fit more snugly; these are not visible when worn, but when inspecting, they can be found. The heel tips have minor wear: please see all photos.
These are estimated to be late 1940s, or possibly very very early 1950s vintage.
This is a lovely pair of classic vintage shoes: these are quite wearable, as well as considered collectibles.
