This beautiful collage of plum, pumpkin, cognac and magenta is highlighted with brilliant lines of white to create a vibrant work of wearable art by Vera.
The scarf is 24" square, with a hand rolled hem, made in Japan.
It has a large (2.5" x 1.5") Vera signature in the corner followed by a copyright c; this helps us date this to the early to mid 1970s. (Thanks to FuzzyLizzie Vintage Clothing website for her Vera background information.)
It is labeled 62" vinial, 33% silk with the last 5% a guess, most likely nylon of some sort. This is sheer with an almost crepe-y texture.
We've found the best way to find flaws on scarves like this is to hold them up to the light: when we do so with this one, we see a couple of pin sized holes, perhaps where a previous owner has attached a pin to it. They are very insignificant, and impossible to photograph, but we do want to mention it.
Freshly and carefully hand-laundered and laid flat to dry.
Fabulous colors, dramatic graphics.
THIS would be amazing framed and hung as art, too.
